The Inspiration

The legend of the Modjadji Queen, its truth and its mystery, was the inspiration behind the reconstruction of a house built in 1960 in Floracliffe, Johannesburg.

The property is still in the possession of the family who built it originally, and with the help of their architect; Georg van Gas, the original structure was utilized and changed into a venue of modern simplicity and authentic quality.

The two-storey house overlooks the garden, and the peacefulness of this setting is unusual for this day of age. Furthermore, the intimacy as well as the simplicity of the interior creates a feeling of rest.
